At our recent, annual meeting with our bank, Citizen’s Bank of Massachusetts, they remarked that they were seeing a significant increase in construction lending in New England. Citizen’s has always been a major banker in the construction industry, so that comment had some weight. I, personally, have noticed an increase in larger commercial projects in and around New York City. And our Austin, Texas, office confirms that the hotel construction industry there is white hot.
As all construction is local, I wonder how your local region is doing. Our 3rd Quarter Construction Data Index, reported elsewhere on this site, tells us that most of our customers are increasingly optimistic about their business prospects. How about you? Care to comment?
