1. The continuation of the soil or waste stack, becoming a vent when it is above the highest horizontal or fixture branch that is connected to the stack; siphonage, aspiration, and back pressure are all relieved by air which enters the system through the stack. 2. A vertical outlet in the interior areas of a built- up roof system to provide relief of water vapor trapped in the insulation.
