1. A plain square joint between two members. 2. In wallpaper, a joint made by trimming both selvedges and butting the edges together; this is used in highest type of work. 3. The cut ends of gypsum board placed adjacent to one another. 4. The joint between two bricks placed end to end in the same course; also called Cross Joint, Head Joint, or Vertical Joint.
